LSTAR's activities are guided by a 10-Member Board of Directors, which is elected to serve the interests of all Members.

2022 Board of Directors 

Randy Pawlowski

As a long-time Londoner from a very young age and growing up in a family of REALTORS®, Randy joined both LSTAR and the London Home Builders’ Association (LHBA) in 1996. He is the LSTAR 2022 President.

This year he is celebrating his 26th year in practice as a certified new home sales professional and accredited seniors agent.

Randy’s community involvement includes volunteering for the YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club - London, Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army and the Mt. Brydges Hockey Association.

In 2022, he is serving on LSTAR’s Executive, Finance, Governance and Political Affairs Committees. He has previously served as LSTAR’s Chair of the Arbitration Committee and the Audit Committee. Randy has been an LSTAR Director since 2015.

 

Jack Lane, Past President

Jack is Past President of the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR). He previously served two terms as LSTAR President, in 2011 and 2021. Jack’s real estate expertise is tremendous. He has sat on numerous boards and committees that have been instrumental for the evolution and progression of Real Estate in London.

Jack has served as LSTAR’s 2004, 2005 and 2015 Commercial Director. Jack is the Chair of LSTAR’s Political Affairs Committee and also serves on LSTAR’s Executive Committee, Discipline Committee, Governance Committee, and Broker Advisory Group.

Jack has been a true servant to the local community as Chair of LSTAR’s Quality of Life Advisory Group (now the Community Engagement Committee), which is dedicated to building better communities and keeping neighbourhoods safe. He is also a proud supporter of the Merrymount Family Crisis Centre, Y.O.U., Unity Project, Mission Services, and St. Joseph's Hospice.

 

Adam Miller

Adam Miller is President-Elect of the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR). He became a REALTOR® in 2004 and joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2017.  

Adam is the Chair of LSTAR’s Executive and Nomination Committees and sits on the Political Affairs Committee. Adam has previously served as Chair of the Education Committee and LSTAR’s Annual Children’s Christmas Party.

Originally from London, Ontario, Adam is the President of the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre and sits on the Board of the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario. 

 

Kathy Amess, Vice-President

Kathy Amess became a REALTOR® in 1993 and joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2020. She is LSTAR’s 2022 Vice-President.  

Kathy currently serves on the Ontario Real Estate Association’s (OREA) Arbitration Committee. She is also the Chair of LSTAR’s Brokers Issues Advisory Group and Arbitration Committee.

Kathy serves on LSTAR’s Executive and Audit Committees, as well as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force. She has previously served on LSTAR’s Discipline Committee, Professional Standards Committee, and MLS® Applications Committee.

Originally from London, Ontario, Kathy is a volunteer with Easter Seals, Ronald McDonald House, and London Cares. 

 

Joan Ball

Joan Ball became a REALTOR® in 1993 and joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2021.  

Joan currently serves on LSTAR’s Professional Standards and Nomination Committees and has previously served on LSTAR’s Gala Committee. She holds the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) and Accredited Senior Agent (ASA) designations. Joan also earned a professional certificate in Management, Leadership and Decision Making through the National Certificate Program in Volunteering and Nonprofit Sector Management at Western University.

Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Joan has served on the Board of Directors for Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), London and Middlesex Housing Corporation (LMHC), London and District Crime Stoppers, London Condominium Corporation III, Niigwin Skills Development and Placement Centre, and London Childbirth Education Association.

Since 1998, Joan has served as the real estate contributor on NewsTalk 1290 CJBK’s radio show, Ask the Experts, offering insights on all aspects of home ownership while advocating on behalf of REALTORS® and the industries involved in a real estate transaction.

Joan has volunteered at several organizations, including Habitat For Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

 

Lisa Lansink

Lisa joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2021, and is the current Chair of LSTAR’s Commercial Committee, which she has served since 2019.

She is a member of the London Property Management Association (LPMA), the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) and the London and District Construction Association (LDCA). 

Her focus in real estate is investment sales, multi-family and apartments, as well as land development and infill sites.

 

Dale Marsh

Dale was born and raised in Clinton, Ontario and moved to London in 1994. He trained as a Survey Technician at Fanshawe College and holds an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation. 

Dale became a REALTOR® in 2006 and served on London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) Board of Directors in 2013 and 2014. Dale joined the LSTAR Board of Directors again in 2018.

He is the Chair of the LSTAR’s Community Engagement Committee and also sits on its Discipline Committee. Dale previously served on LSTAR’s Professional Standards Committee, from 2013 to 2021.

In the community, Dale coached soccer for the East London Soccer Club from 2008 to 2016, was a Scouts Canada leader for four years, has volunteered at the Hockey Helps The Homeless tournament for all five years the tournament has been hosted in London, participated in the LSTAR Salvation Army Christmas Kettle drive campaign for several years, and has helped raise money for Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) and Merrymount. He enjoys running, cycling and various other sports.

 

Christy Ruth

Christy Ruth became a REALTOR® in 1996 and joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2021.  

Christy is the Chair of LSTAR’s Education Committee, which she has served since 2019 and is working with Corporate Training Solutions (CTS) Fanshawe College, to assist with new education material for the LSTAR Membership. She is also the Chair of LSTAR’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force and serves on the LSTAR Professional Standards Committee.

Originally from London, Ontario, Christy started a coaching and mentorship program at Oliver & Associates and has volunteered with several organizations, including Habitat For Humanity, Delaware/Komoka/Mt. Brydges (DKMB) Minor Baseball, Mt. Brydges Hockey Association, as well as the Women’s Shelter. 

 

Robin Tiller, Director

Robin Tiller became a REALTOR® in 2011 and joined the LSTAR Board of Directors in 2022.  

Robin currently sits on LSTAR’s Professional Standards Committee, which she has served since 2019 and is a facilitator of the real estate education program for Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. She also serves on LSTAR’s Arbitration Committee, MLS® Platform Committee, Strategic Alliance Task Force, and Brokers Issues Advisory Group.

Originally from Ailsa Craig, Ontario, Robin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Science Laboratory Technology diploma from Fanshawe College.

Currently, Robin is Chair of the Strathroy Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Directors and a member of the Grand Bend and Area Chamber of Commerce. Since 2016, she has served as a community correspondent for Grand Bend and Bayfield Area for the Staysh FauxPop Media - a weekly video featuring local businesses and community happenings.

Passionate about organizing local fairs and community events, Robin enjoys taking “road trips” that explore unique destinations and experiences all across Canada.

 

Richard Thyssen

A native of Sarnia, Ontario, Richard Thyssen joined London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) in 1985. Richard served as LSTAR President in 2010 and gained extensive knowledge through his many years serving on the Board of Directors and as President of the Marketing Division in 1992. 

Richard is an instructor of the LSTAR MLS® Rules and Regulations course and is the Chair of LSTAR’s Audit Committee. He also serves on the LSTAR Finance, Governance and Professional Standards Committees. Throughout the years, Richard has served on many other committees for the Association, including the Executive, Nomination, Discipline, Education, Political Affairs and MLS® Systems Committees.

Richard makes his home in Delaware, with his wife Colleen and son Liam. He enjoys hockey, skiing, canoeing, and golfing.
