lstar ceo receives spirit award

The Directors of the London and St Thomas Association of REALTORS® are proud to announce that the Ontario REALTORS Care Foundation has named Betty Doré, LSTAR's long-time CEO, as the recipient of this year's Spirit Award. The Spirit Award recognizes individuals or board/associations who have in some significant way contributed to the success of the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation or advanced its goal of assisting Members of Organized Real Estate and Real Estate Boards and Associations in Ontario by support of shelter-related charities in their communities.

"Betty is incredibly deserving of this award," says Stacey Evoy, LSTAR President. "With her at the helm, the Foundation grew its Capital Fund from just under $2M to over $3M in just four years and increased its annual outgoing grants from $90,000 to over half a million. At the local level, Betty played a vital role in the Home at Last Affordable Home Ownership Partnership, joining with the City of London, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Habitat for Humanity to make the dream of homeownership a reality for low-income families, and, through the development of a robust Sponsorship Program, as well as a Business Partners Program, she made it possible for LSTAR to make significant contributions to the community without using Members' dues. Over the course of Betty's tenure, LSTAR has donated nearly $700,000 to area charities."

Betty is a Fellow of the Ontario REALTORS Care Foundation, sits as a Director on the Board of the Canadian REALTORS Care Foundation and is just finishing up a stint on the Executive of Community Living London, a charity dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities.
