Today the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® hosted its second annual London Housing Industry Networking Conference and Lender Show at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn. The Hon. Matt Brown Mayor of London was on hand to greet the over 300 REALTORS® and other Housing Industry professionals who turned out to network, check out trade show exhibitors - the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), CIBC, LIBRO, RBC, TD, Mortgage Teacher, Mortgage Wise Financial and Dominion Lending - and listen to a number of Guest Speakers and expert panels, including:

  • Cliff Iverson, President, CREA, who hosted a CREA Open House;
  • Anthony Passarelli, Senior Market Analyst, CMHC, who provided CMHC's Fall Housing Forecast and insights into the demographics of our region;
  • An expert panel made up of:  Anthony Passarelli; Jed Chinneck, Chinneck Law Professional Corporation; Joe Kireta, President of the Appraisal Institute of Canada; and Tom Weber, Alder Creek Inspections and Consulting, who discussed what impact the new mortgage regulations imposed by the Federal Government on October 17, 2016 will have on markets;
  • Keynote presentation by Mike Moffatt, Assistant Professor in the Business, Economics and Public Group at the Richard Ivey School of Business, who spoke on the ever-shifting landscape of the Canadian Real Estate Industry.
