Please be aware of a potential Canada Post strike that could begin as early as May 22, 2025, pending the outcome of ongoing negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). While discussions are still underway, there is a possibility of service disruptions.
If a strike occurs, it may impact the delivery of mail and parcels across the country. This could affect how and when you receive important documents, communications, or packages from fellow REALTORS®, LSTAR, and other organizations such as law offices.
What this means for you:
- Delays in mail delivery: Expect slower delivery times for letters and parcels.
- Avoid mailing important items: We strongly encourage members to avoid using the mail for any cheques or other important documents during this time.
- Digital communication: Please use email or digital platforms for timely updates and correspondence whenever possible.
- Plan ahead: If you are expecting time-sensitive materials, consider making alternative arrangements in advance.
We remain hopeful that a settlement will be reached. However, if a resolution is not achieved, LSTAR will be available to assist members in navigating any challenges that arise.
