London, ON – The London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) announced 2017 marked a historic year for residential real estate, with home sales surpassing 10,000 for the first time since LSTAR began tracking data in 1978. In 2017, a total of 10,091 homes were sold, up 8.0% from 2016.

London, ON – The London St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) announced it has presented nearly $40,000 to five local organizations, as part of its community investment program. LSTAR President Jim Smith and LSTAR CEO John S. Geha bestowed cheques of $5,000 to Meals on Wheels London, $3,625 to Investing in Children, $25,000 to London Health Sciences Foundation, $5,000 to Hockey Helps the Homeless and $500 to Christmas Care St. Thomas.

The London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) announced 637 homes exchanged hands last month, down 13.6% from the same time a year ago. Meanwhile, year-to-date sales are up 9.1%, with a total of 10,790 homes sold, marking 2017 as the year with the highest number of residential sales since LSTAR began tracking data in 1978, with one more month to go.

Year-to-date sales are up 10.6%, with a total of 10,111 homes sold, marking the second consecutive year residential sales have surpassed 10,000 across the region.
